From 11 July till 20 August you are warmly welcome to the illustrations exhibition of books by the famous Italian writer Emilio Salgari (1862–1911) "From the Shores of Po River till the Shores of Daugava" – at the Conference Centre (level -1) of the National Library of Latvia. Free entrance.

The exhibition has been made in co-operation with the Italian Embassy in Latvia, the Foundation Tancredi di Barolo, Academy Albertina of Fine Arts of Turin and EF International Service Art. The exhibition features glamorous Italian illustrations of original illustrations of books.

The exhibition "From the Shores of Po River till the Shores of Daugava", curated of Enzo Fornaro and Pompeo Vagliani, serves as an incentive for the National Library of Latvia to look again at the Salgarian books and to think about the translation of the always-on-the-spot adventurous novels.
