The Director of the National Library of Latvia Mr. Andris Vilks will meet the royal couple of Sweden

Tomorrow, 26 March at 3:25 PM, during the official visit in Latvia, Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia will be visiting the Hall of Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church Central Board (4 Mazā Pils Street). During the visit the royal couple will meet the Director of the National Library of Latvia (NLL) Mr. Andris Vilks. Furthermore, they will also attend the exhibition of several old exemplars from the collection of library's Section of Rare Books and Manuscripts, related to Latvian and Swedish cultural heritage.

It is planned that Mr. Vilks will present the eminent guests the information about the library's new building – the Castle of Light, its services, and future plans.

Also the researcher of the Royal Library of Sweden Mr. Jānis Krēsliņš will participate in the meeting. He will provide a historical insight on items from the collection mentioned before. These books are NLL's inheritance from the Imperial Lyceum Library of Riga, founded in 1675.
